Defining Circulating Supply

From today, tokens under the Immutable Tokenomics umbrella (Immutable X, $GODS, Guild Of Guardians) are adopting a new standard to include these tokens in circulating supply, as we believe this to be more transparent and fair for token holders. This is consistent with the definition of most coin trackers and aligns with the expectations of other major tokens.

Fees on Immutable X

This week, we are activating Immutable X’s “protocol fee” in preparation for the upcoming release of $IMX staking in June. The protocol fee isn’t a gas fee, nor do you need to pay it in $IMX directly — it’s a simple exchange fee on transactions, paid in the currency of the trade. Part of this fee is allocated to Immutable, and part to the $IMX staking rewards pool.

Royalties on StarkNet

Royalties have been handled in various ways on Ethereum, from centralized royalty systems and custom on-chain royalty solutions to the EIP2981 royalty standard. To support new NFT projects building on StarkNet as well as maintaining interoperability with existing Immutable X NFTs, we explored different ways to define and manage royalties for non-fungible assets. The goal was to design a golden standard for royalties on StarkNet, flexible and comprehensive enough to accommodate all current and future partner requirements.

Immutable X Protocol Orderbook — Solving Order Fragmentation

Our solution is simple: build a global protocol-level orderbook for Immutable X. A protocol-level orderbook means any orders which are created anywhere on the Immutable X protocol are immediately visible on any IMX-integrated marketplace. Our goal is to build an ecosystem where hundreds of niche and native marketplaces can co-exist with larger, aggregating marketplaces. A great example of this is GUDecks, a Gods Unchained deck builder which allows you to instantly copy and buy popular decks — an awesome contextual experience which is only possible with external order flow.

Product Update: Ecosystem Fees Live

Marketplaces building on Immutable X will now be able to add custom fees to their orders. This will encourage world-class NFT marketplace experiences to be built on Immutable X. From awesome aggregating marketplaces to dedicated content-specific marketplaces, to awesome in-game trading experiences, we want to incentivize the best builders to build the best ways to trade NFTs on our platform.

Important Announcement: IMX Token Split

Therefore, as of 22 October 2021 midnight UTC, we are performing a supply split of IMX pre-launch so that every 1 token is now worth 100 (here is the new token contract). Supply will be increased proportionally, so all allocations and users will receive the same percentage share of IMX.
