Steam Wishlist Calculator
Enter the wishlists you have (or let the tool estimate them from your Steam follower count) and get a launch-week sales range built on published conversion benchmarks. Or work the other way: name a revenue goal and see how many wishlists it actually implies.
From your Steamworks wishlist report: the outstanding balance, not lifetime adds.
Enter a wishlist count to see a launch-week range.
Every band in this tool comes from our sourced wishlist conversion benchmarks, so the tool and the research can never quote different numbers.
What the calculator does, step by step
| Step | What happens |
|---|---|
| Wishlist basis | Your reported count is used directly. A follower count is converted at 9.6x-12x and labelled an estimate. |
| Conversion band | 5-20% by default. Picking the 11% median or 15% high-wishlist figure narrows it to a ±2pp band around that rate. |
| Units and gross | Wishlists multiplied by each end of the band, then by your launch price. |
| Net | Steam's tiered revenue share only. VAT, regional pricing, discounts and refunds are the revenue calculator's job. |
Why the range is wide, and why we keep it that way
Published wishlist conversion has fallen over the years, from figures near 20% in the late 2010s to a median around 11% today. Two games with identical wishlist counts routinely land at opposite ends of the band depending on genre, price, review sentiment and what else launched that week. None of that is knowable from a wishlist count, so the tool reports a range and says so, rather than picking a midpoint and presenting it as a forecast.

The conversion side is the half you can still change
Wishlists are slow to earn and Steam notifies each one exactly once, on launch day. Immutable Audience recovers the wishlisters that single email misses, in one campaign delivering a 2.8x Day 1 conversion lift.
