Question 1

How do I find games similar to mine on Steam?

Accepted Answer

Enter your game and the tool returns up to five comparable games, drawn from Steam's own More Like This list and the top games sharing your most distinctive tags. Each one is labelled a close fit or a genre leader.

Question 2

What is the best marketing channel for my indie game?

Accepted Answer

The one that already worked for games like yours. The tool scores three channels out of 100 from your comparables' YouTube and Reddit coverage: streamers and creators, short form video, and community and forums. The report shows the videos and threads behind each score.

Question 3

How do I find YouTubers who cover games like mine?

Accepted Answer

The tool searches YouTube for your comparable games and lists the creator channels already covering them, highest engagement first. Sponsored videos are left off the list, because a paid placement is a media buy rather than a free pitch.

Question 4

Which subreddits should I post my indie game in?

Accepted Answer

The ones where players of your comparable games already talk. The tool finds them from live Reddit search and puts them in your action plan, with piracy, deal and catch-all gaming subreddits filtered out.

Question 5

Can you see how many wishlists a Steam game has?

Accepted Answer

No. Only the developer can see a game's wishlist count, in Steamworks. For unreleased games the tool shows an estimate, the public Steam follower count multiplied by 9.6, and labels it as one.
