Last year, we announced our plan to merge Immutable X and Immutable zkEVM into one unified network. We’re excited to share that this process is nearly complete.

All games have now migrated to the new Immutable chain, staking has been successfully migrated, and the Sandbox/Testnet environments have been fully merged.

This article outlines what’s changing, how user funds will be handled, and what you need to know.

Migrating User Funds

No user action is required to migrate your funds to the new chain.

All funds remaining on the chain will be migrated to the same user wallets on the merged chain through a trustless and transparent on-chain process. Immutable will have no custody of funds during the merge: the merge will be handled entirely by the upgraded bridge contract. 

As there is no equivalent of the Immutable Link on the new chain, funds will be moved directly to the Ethereum wallet you used to create your Immutable Link. This means you will be able to view your balances directly in Metamask, Passport, or any other EVM-compatible wallet (or on the block explorer). 

If you do not want your assets to be automatically merged, please withdraw at any point before February 11, 2026. Note that withdrawals may take up to 24 hours.

Merge Process

We will soon trigger the upgrade of the Immutable X bridge contract to complete this merge.

This upgrade requires a two-week time delay. Please complete any withdrawals before this upgrade begins (earliest February 11, 2026), or your funds will be automatically migrated to your wallet on the new chain after the two-week delay period (earliest February 25, 2026). 

We will be upgrading the Immutable X bridge contract to the implementation specified here.

Immutable X Deprecation

All writes (POST requests) to Immutable X through the APIs/RPCs will be blocked (earliest February 11, 2026), after which Immutable X will enter a read-only state.

We will not immediately deactivate reading APIs and Immutascan, but may do so without warning in future.

Please migrate away from these surfaces – all assets and balances are now on the new Immutable chain!

The Immutable Link will also be deprecated, as it is no longer necessary on the new chain. Immutable Passport provides gas-free transactions for most purposes on the new chain – set yours up now via Immutable Play.
