Chainmonsters is a free to play massive multiplayer monster taming RPG with a highly stylized art style inspired by Studio Ghibli.
Exploring the open game world, completing quests, battling and collecting over 136 unique Chainmons is a core part of this experience.
Players have to combine different types of monsters and abilities to create strong chain reactions and master the elements. Environmental and weather effects as well as different team compositions heavily influence the turn-based 2vs2 battles.
Designed as a game-as-a-service (GAAS) project we intend to push out a stream of continuous game and content updates over many years to come, through an ever expanding game world with new Chainmons and additional game mechanics similar to e.g. Genshin Impact.
Our main target is the growing monster-taming audience that started off with Pokemon and Digimon games and is now becoming a completely new genre, thanks to the rise of popular “indie” interpretations including Temtem, Monster Sanctuary and Coromon.
As a secondary audience we identified the more traditional MMO gamers coming from RPGs like World of Warcraft, Genshin Impact and Lost Ark.
With Chainmonsters we are mixing the monster-taming genre with a true massive multiplayer RPG experience, connecting the best of both worlds and enabling a unique experience yet to be seen in this genre.
